My partner and I recently married in Torri Del Benaco at the castle, which in itself was truly magic. Little did we know our experience at Gemme would make that day even more special. From the moment we met Andrea and Lara at our welcome meeting before the event, I had no doubt that they would deliver something special and memorable. My partner and I love eating out, and have eaten at some fantastic places (Fat Duck, La Manoir, Claridges, The Ivy but to name a few) and Gemme di Artemisia easily matches up (if not betters in many ways) all of those experiences. The food was beautiful, the setting was stunning, but the real wow factor comes from Andrea and Lara themselves. I rarely recall meeting a couple as warm and as welcoming. Both speak very good English and have excellent taste in football and music!!! A mere side note of course I hope you will agree. Ready and willing to chat about anything, and showing a superb knowledge about what was served to us, it was a delight, and startling in many ways to be chatting about Chievo Verona in Serie A one second, and then being served a starter that was simply beautiful. Not once did Andrea's chef’s hat slip, and Lara’s professionalism is extraordinary, never once slipping and ensuring she maintained her very high standards in service whilst still appearing approachable and friendly. I always try to think of a small criticism in these reviews to not make it sound like I have been paid off by the restaurateurs, but sadly, I can’t quibble at a single thing about the whole event. They even prepared a small 'in joke' for my partner involving tomato ketchup which went down fantastically. The real winner as I said before is the two themselves. I’m sure chefs worldwide can cook wonderful food, and there are settings everywhere which are as breathtaking, but the difference maker for me was everything that Andrea and Lara brought to the occasion that no amount of schooling or learning can give. A lovely couple, truly. We are now very interested in their cooking classes, and will certainly return for a meal when we come back to Lake Garda.

"Myself and my husband were recently married in the nearby Torri Del Benaco castle and had our wedding reception at Le Gemme di Artemisia. It was a short drive up into the hillside with spectacular views over looking Lake Garda. The restaurant is a converted family home decorated with many contemporary twists whilst maintaining the traditional and warm Italian ambience. Lara and Andrea immediately set us at ease with their friendly yet professional approach. They take absolute pride in every aspect of their establishment and this is shown in their attention to every detail. Their presence during the meal itself was discreet but always at hand. Andrea proved to be an excellent chef who created a wonderful set menu made from locally sourced produce. He was more than willing to provide alternatives to a few of our guests when asked. This beautiful meal was served in what can only be decribed as a most magnificently set table as you could wish to see. As the weather was fine we were able to dine outdoors under a beautifully draped gazebo overlooking the lake in their idyllic gardens. We thought the view could not be improved but were proved wrong as the sun began to set. Spectacular. Thank you so much Lara and Andrea for making our wedding day so perfect.
